What service do I provide?
Every parent is their child's first teacher. My goal is to partner with you (and your student's current teacher) to help your student flourish in what they are learning. I will work with you and your student's school to support the learning of your student. I will personalize their learning experience, help them to taste success and develop confidence, and improve their skills in STEM related coursework. I can also partner with homeschool families to work with your student according to the curriculum you have developed.
What is STEAM?
STEAM stands for Science Technology Engineering Arts & Math. The addition of the "A" to the more well-known STEM acronym reflects a growing body of research which shows that the fine arts plays a crucial role in a student's ability to do STEM activities.
Why from a Biblical Worldview?
As a Christian I believe that everything that exists is made by God and exists for Him. As such, we best understand the world around us through the sciences when we remember the point of it all. The deeper we study and seek to understand the world we live in, the more we peer into the infinite mind of the Creator who desires us to know Him as we enjoy learning about what He has made. I believe that science and religion are not opposed to each other, but are answering different questions. Our religious beliefs tell us WHY things are, whereas science seeks to explain HOW they are. Science can tell us HOW our body works, but religion tells us WHY we have a body in the first place, and WHAT we should do with it.
Every client is also a partner in giving back. A portion of all proceeds are donated to kiva.org to fund micro-loans that support global entrepreneurs in developing nations.
Why Kiva?
God tells us that His kingdom is filled with people from all over the world, and that He gives talents and abilities so that people can glorify Him through them. Here in America we have many options for ways to borrow money in order to start a business or develop an invention, but many countries lack this infrastructure. Kiva helps provide microloans to entrepreneurs in developing nations so that they too might be able to develop the gifts and talents God has given them.Â
